Two locations become one: On 4 June about half of the 160 Eisele employees have been relocated to the new head office on Lise-Meitner-Straße 8/1 in Waiblingen, which also has plenty of space for future growth. The core of the new building - the small parts warehouse with four aisles - provides space for 17,280 containers, and can be expanded for up to 26,780 containers, as needed. Five shuttles are used for filling and storing the containers. The shuttles move on rails that are mounted on the storage shelves and are raised to the respective tier by means of lifts. They can also automatically move to different aisles, for optimal utilization of the existing space.
The relocation is also accompanied by the optimisation of business processes: Eisele intends to introduce a completely paperless process, with the ultimate goal of integration in the new automated small parts warehouse. From order receipt and product planning, through production and quality control, to warehousing and dispatch: the entire exchange of information within the company will be conducted electronically with the start of operations in the new warehouse.
